The Gutierrez Law Firm was proud to have Kirsten Alaniz as an intern this summer. Kirsten is a junior at the University of Texas-Austin. She’s a Jim Wells County, Texas native, growing up in Premont and attending Alice High School.

Who/what inspires you?
Strong, independent women inspire me.

What are you most passionate about?
I am most passionate about my faith and belief in God. He has always been at the center of my life. I know with him by my side nothing is impossible.
How would you describe yourself in three words?
Energetic, dependable, and determined
What is the most rewarding part of your job?
The most rewarding part of my job is getting to learn from the amazing people who work here. I have gained experience and not to mention great mentors here at the firm. I wouldn’t have wanted to spend my summer any other way.
What would you be doing if you weren’t at your current job?
This job is only temporary because I am still in college finishing up my undergraduate studies. However, becoming an attorney is my biggest aspiration. It is something I have wanted for so long and I can’t imagine my life going any other route.
What are you currently watching on Netflix?
Queen of the South & How to Get Away with Murder (must see!!)
Who/what brings the most happiness to your life?
My family and friends bring the most happiness to my life. I know on my toughest and brightest days they will be there for me. It makes me happy to know these people will love me unconditionally, forever!
How do you relax after a long day of work?
After a long day of work you’ll usually find me at the gym. Working out has always been a stress reliever for me. I enjoy going to the gym and being around people who motivate me!
What is your favorite family tradition?
My favorite family tradition is when my family and I get together for Christmas. Especially making Tamales and Pan de Polvo at my Grammy’s house with all of my cousins.
