People killed in drunk driving accidents account for one-third of all traffic fatalities. This amounts to one death every 53 minutes. Despite the frequency of drunk driving accidents, drinking and driving is still rampant on roadways across the country, and many people are still misinformed about drunk driving.
Manufacturers are responsible for making safe products, but for a variety of reasons, dangerous consumer products still make it onto the market with defects. While most people are familiar with car recalls, recalls for defective child seats can be just as dangerous. Unlike auto parts recalls, recalls for child safety seats are much more difficult to tackle. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), only 40% of recalled car seats ever get repaired.
Most drivers own cell phones, and unfortunately, many drivers are tempted into using their phones while driving. Most drivers using smartphones while driving do so because they believe they can do it safely, but this couldn’t be further from the truth.
The construction industry is one of the most dangerous industries for workers, but this time of year, construction workers are exposed to another serious threat on the job: working at night. Because the days get shorter in the winter, many construction workers (or any other person who works outside) will likely find themselves working during night for at least part of their day.
